“Whiskey Shivers isn’t just five of us on stage, it’s everybody in the room”

There have been countless bands over the years that have tried to stay true to that self-portrayal, with very few succeeding. Attend one of their live shows, however, and you’ll be jonesing to pick up a washboard and play right along. That’s what happens when you watch five musicians who love to perform more than anything; it’s not a concert, it’s an experience.

It doesn’t hurt that the music they’re performing is just as catchy and relatable as the show you’re watching. Their latest self-titled album – produced by OAS-alum Robert Ellis – was composed of tracks ripped right out of their daily lives.

Whiskey Shivers focuses on the everyday struggles everyone can connect with, which may explain why they’re such an infectious group to watch. It’s not because of their individually unique talents, but because maybe we could be up on stage with them. Had we been the ones to answer that vague Craigslist ad looking to form a bluegrass band, we’d be enjoying our lives just as much as they are.

What we can do, however, is kick off our shoes (maybe pop off our shirts?), and turn it up.  Cheers!
